This might not look like much to you, but what this is is my first attempt at an over-easy egg, and it was successful! I actually did a little gleeful hop. By the way, did you know that Julia Child didn't start cooking until she was 37? Just sayin'.
Reading in summer.

King Crab
This weekend we ate at the Crab Shanty in City Island (twice). I am now fascinated by the creature known as the KING CRAB. Watching Joe eat these legs was like watching someone dismantle a dinosaur. I wanted to know more about the King Crab, so I Googled. I found this picture:
And I found this diagram:
But I think most people would agree that the diagram should look more like this:

I can't believe it either
I have been practicing driving on Joe's Dad's Plumbing Truck. It is a huge truck that looks like this:
It has six wheels and I have to take two giant steps up to get into it. Here is another picture so you can really see just how big this truck is:
And I would like to shout from the rooftops that Joe Branciforte is a saint, blessed with patience, confidence, and faith. He is the man for the job and I am lucky to have him! Give Joe a pat on the back next time you see him.

I have this book:
"The God of Driving"
by Amy Fine Collins
As a top correspondent for Vanity Fair magazine, Amy Fine Collins leads a glamorous life, a charmed whirlwind of gala parties, couture clothing, and five-star travel. In Manhattan, where she is whisked around in taxis and limousines, she has been able to disregard her long-standing fear of driving, a legacy handed down from her accident-plagued family. But when the brilliant and determined Amy finally decides to confront her driving phobia, she does not foresee how far from her elegant turf this resolution will take her. Vibrant and funny, "The God of Driving" is an offbeat, romantic odyssey— a true-life tale of unlikely soul mates who bump into each other at the crossroads of high gears and high style.
Now I'm going to read it, and live it.

Assorted pictures from the weekend
I went to Central Park on Saturday but it was not enjoyable really because everyone else who was in NYC had the same idea. But the landscape was lovely and I liked the music (see the little band on the right?).
How nice that the horses have a water vessel. I never noticed this before.
Girls! Girls! Stop fighting! You're both pretty!
Luv (and a Sharpie handy) makes one do juvenile things sometimes.
New shoes from Sidse! When my feet shrink a little I will wear these every day.
Seeing a pile of my own smiling faces smiling back at me makes me supremely happy.
