I used to spend a week or two out in Breezy Point every summer with my best friend. Her grandmother lived in a cute little beach bungalow there. The mother of her fireman dad (fireman? Breezy Point? Go figure.) Walk streets and sandy toes, sleeping on the floor and showering outdoors, marching in their summer mardi gras parade, walking the jetty from the bay to the ocean...
