Illustration by Paul Sahre for The New York Times.

I love illustrations like this that are so simple that you feel like you are getting away with something.

The Branciforte men

I like being inside when there's snow outside

I saw a fox in the snow this weekend! And more snow than I could have imagined. And I slept and ate. I like Vermont.

Marlton House on 8th Street: The dorm where I worked as an RA, caught at least one mouse a day on glue traps, had thousands of cockroaches, and where Joe used to drop me off when we first met. Also: Mickey Rourke used to live here!

This person has money. Noone in NYC without lots of money would buy a white coat.

This squirrel is frozen solid.

Finally!

Here is my LAST STUDENT LOAN PAYMENT. Ever. I'm done! Huzzah!

Best $1 I have spent in a while.

Last night at Border's Bookstore I saw a shelf with a very sad little collection of pathetic stuffed animals that noone bought for Christmas so they had been marked down to $1 each. I brought home this fuzzy penguin baby. He's getting cuter by the minute.
