Rachel introduced me to my new best friend: please say hello to THE RED DANSKO CLOG SANDAL, to be arriving via my postman this week.

Inspiration

I was supremely inspired by the HBO movie "Grey Gardens", and I looked up the original documentary, too. Now I can't stop drawing Little Edies and wearing headscarves. I hope I stop with the scarves but keep going with the drawings.

First baseball game of the year and first baseball game with Joey and first game at Citifield for us. Too bad it was freezing cold, and too bad the Mets lost...but it was still fun! We had a blanket and hotdogs.

Easter Sunday in New York City

Yesterday Antonina asked if she could borrow my vanilla extract. Later that night she knocked at my door with this delicious Sicilian Easter Bread treat, piping hot, right out of the oven! She told me to eat it with butter and a cup of tea. I did.


I met Mike and Kiernan on 76th and Madison for breakfast today, then I walked home. This is what every tree in NYC looks like right now. The white blooms phase doesn't last long, so you have to enjoy it while you can.


On Easter, Fifth Avenue is closed off from 57th St to 48th St for the unofficial Easter Parade.


I love these girls.

The Easter Parade

I am going to meet friends for coffee tomorrow morning on 75th and Madison and then wander home down 5th Ave to see the Easter Parade! I have never seen the NYC Easter Parade before! I will bring my camera.

Then at 2pm I am going to the Branciforte's in Forest Hills with the beautiful Cannoli Cake I bought.

And then on Monday I will stop eating sugar again.

Rainy Saturday. April Showers. You know.

Sometimes I crave these dark chocolate/raspberry jelly rings. I have no idea why, because I have no memory of ever eating them before in my life. But today was one of those days: I felt compelled to walk to the little candy store, tie Nino up outside, get a tiny white paper bag, place a few jelly rings in said bag, then pay the man. It's like I was possessed. Jelly ring zombie!

I got my hair did and me bangs trimmed today.

Cadbury Mini Eggs...I wish they were this big.
